If you haven’t experienced the awesome Unreal Engine 5 The Matrix Awakens demo yet, rush to your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. By this weekend, it will be unavailable except for some players.
The Matrix Awakens tech demo, in charge of touting the merits of next-gen consoles, impressed its little world. But Epic Games will be pulling it from the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store in the near future.
The Matrix Awakens UE5 demo unavailable July 9, 2022
This is what we can read on the site of the Unreal Engine 5, the home engine of Epic Games (Fortnite). The Matrix demo will indeed be delisted this Saturday, July 9, 2022 and will, as a result, no longer be available for download on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Except for those who already have it. In this case, it will still be available, without time limit, and can even be retrieved if you need to make room on your SSD.
The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is now available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Download it for free today to explore the future of interactive storytelling and entertainment with UE5. Haven’t played the demo yet? There’s still time! The UE5 tech demo will be available on stores until July 9. Download it before then, and you’ll still be able to access it – or even re-download it if you deleted it from your console.
Well, that’s the theory, but in practice, if it’s like Silent Hills P.T., you can definitely write it off. The fate of The Matrix Awakens depends on the goodwill of Epic Games.
The demo is divided into two parts. First a chase with restricted controls, then a phase with the IO avatar where you move freely in the open world. You can fly, drive a car or modify the environment with a series of options, some of which are more technical to discover the backstage.
