The Tomorrow Children: Q-Games reclaims PlayStation exclusive rights and will re-release abandoned game

PixelJunk Racers, PixelJunk Monsters, PixelJunk Eden, PixelJunk Shooter or lately PixelJunk Raiders : Q-Games has increased the number of projects gameplay varied in its fetish universe since its creation in 2001. But it has also occasionally touched a bunch of original licenses, including the curious The Tomorrow Children. It was for the record a free-to-play on PS4 with building mechanics and social interactions in a dystopian world where the USSR is in power, whose servers closed in 2017 after a year of service.

The experience sandbox obviously meant a lot to the Japanese developers, but there was nothing they could do with it, as it was produced and edited by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The studio has campaigned in secret to relaunch the franchise and today proudly announces thathe was able to recover his exploitation rights from the hands of SIE. And not for nothing: he now wants to bring out the title, in a form which remains to be specified. Director Dylan Cuthbert is in any case the first to be delighted with this negotiation.

I would like to first of all thank the fans of The Tomorrow Children, without whom I would never have had the confidence to continue this agreement. Our fans are some of the most amazing players in the business and every day for the past four years they have kept the dream alive. I think the happiest thing about this decision is imagining the pleasure these fans will feel when they re-enter the crazed post-apocalyptic Neo-Soviet world of The Tomorrow Children.

Second, I would like to thank Sony Interactive Entertainment for also working with me to get the license back to Q-Games. It took a concerted effort for all of us to take this final step and I am very grateful to everyone involved in the process.

I’m now tweaking and reworking parts of the game every week and hope everyone follows and gets involved in this process. We plan to make a few changes for the better and give The Tomorrow Children the new launch it deserves!

When, how and on which platforms The Tomorrow Children will he see the light of day again? No one knows yet, but the sandbox game will at least get a second chance. Hope this is the right one and that Q-Games succeeds in transforming the test.
